A while back I was tasked with the job of photographing Fat Boy Ice cream for their new packaging. Karen Evan tackled the food styling in this venture, knocking it out of the park.
Precision is key in packaging shoots. We made sure that each variation of flavors was the same as the next one, creating a seamless look between packages.
If you have packaging or other photographic content needs, get in touch. I would love to hear about your project.
A little while back I had the opportunity to photograph some beautiful hand crafted chocolates by a local retailer. The care put into these chocolates was truly inspiring to see. I loved that they were a tradition that was handed down through generations.
L’artisane vegan bakery recently sent me a box of their adorable macarons for a feature I was doing in VegNews. These little cookies were so cute they were begging me to place them in a colorful scene and photograph them. How could I say no? I love the color blocking 90’s vibe that I ended up with.
Not long ago I took these for a friend who started selling these delicious cinnamon rolls. I loved working with their branding colors and think they turned out so fun!
If you have any upcoming projects I’d love to speak with you. Let’s chat!
Last March, when winter was still going strong in Logan, UT, I found myself in a rather delightful situation. Hired by Casper’s Ice Cream, I was tasked to create photographs for their new packaging. As many of these images were initially set against a plain white backdrop, for my own uses, I decided to infuse them with my own vibrant, playful style by placing these delicious treats in colorful settings.
Casper’s Ice Cream recently underwent a change in ownership and needed a fresh look for their product packaging. This was a fantastic opportunity to transform their frozen treats into vibrant works of art, visually appealing and ready to make a bold statement.
The challenge at hand was to emphasize the textures and visual allure of Casper’s ice cream products. Hard lighting was the key, and I worked closely with my talented food stylists, Karen Evans and Stephanie Donovan, who painstakingly crafted the textures. It was essential to showcase these in the best possible way. To achieve this, we used bare bulb strobes to create strong shadows and bring out the textures, while I focused on centered compositions for most of the images.
In this project, the star of the show is undoubtedly the ice cream sandwiches, ice cream bars, and ice cream cones. The focus was solely on the product itself, with the intention of making them irresistible to consumers. The vibrant backgrounds serve as the perfect stage for these frozen delights to shine. This project was truly a treat to create.
Stay tuned for more visual treats, as the adventure continues with new projects on the horizon.
